Three storefronts in a row on the even-numbered side of San Vicente Boulevard now sell pie, pizza and smashburgers, at 11678, 11684 and 11686. Directly across the street, 11677 San Vicente is Brentwood Gardens. Inside it you'll find a white-tablecloth Persian dining room in Suite 315 and an all-day Mediterranean cafe on the second story. Within one block of Brentwood's main street, the even side now serves the quick, kid-friendly dinner and the odd side serves the dinner you book ahead. The last piece of that split arrived on Saturday, October 3, when Burger She Wrote opened.
The third door opened October 3
Burger She Wrote opened its third and largest restaurant at 11686 San Vicente Blvd. on October 3. CurationsLA reported that the space seats about 25 people across indoor, outdoor and counter seating. The Santa Monica Mirror places it between Barrington and Darlington avenues. Co-founder Don "Nuge" Nguyen's team includes Mikayel Israyelyan and Steven Arroyo, with Jennifer Searle and Erik Bragg also on the ownership and creative side.
The menu is short. The Oklahoma Smashburger is named for Nguyen's home state. It shares the board with a Classic and a plant-based Impossible, all made with Snake River Farms American wagyu or the Impossible patty on slightly sweet King's Hawaiian buns. Fancy Fries, a Fancy Grilled Cheese and rotating house sauces fill out the rest. The walls carry skate photography by Atiba Jefferson, Ed Templeton and Estevan Oriol, set against vintage tile in kelly green, forest green, deep blue, light beige and white. A limited clothing collaboration with Brixton is also on offer.
The posted hours matter most for the block's evenings. Burger She Wrote lists 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. That makes it the latest-closing of the three neighbors.
How the casual row came together over nine years
Winston Pies, 11678 San Vicente, since 2017. Brianna Abrams grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and started baking pies to order from her home kitchen under the name ButterCrust Pies. When she couldn't keep up with demand, she opened Winston Pies, and the Brentwood storefront was the first. The bakery now also has a West Hollywood shop and ships nationwide, and its menu runs from full pies to the 2.5-inch PieBite, with vegan and gluten-free options available daily. The San Vicente shop opened in 2017. Its posted schedule is closed Monday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Flour Pizzeria, 11684 San Vicente, since Valentine's Day after the Palisades Fire. Flour began in Pacific Palisades as a family-run, New York-style slice shop serving 18-inch Brooklyn-style pies on organic European flour. Westside Current reported that the Brentwood location had been planned for July. After the fire, the opening moved up to Valentine's Day, and Brentwood and Palisades customers were invited in for free pizza. Posted hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Burger She Wrote, 11686 San Vicente, since October 3, 2026. This is the door that finished the set.
With the burger shop in place, a dinner of pizza or burgers with pie after now takes a few steps of sidewalk and no second parking spot.
Across the street, Brentwood Gardens went the other way
While the even side was filling in with counter service, the building across the street went more formal.
Eater LA reported that Perse opened in February at 11677 San Vicente Boulevard, Suite 315. It comes from Farinaz and Farbod Pirshirazi, the brother-sister team whose family is behind Toranj in Westwood. The menu goes past kebabs into the regional dishes they grew up eating across Iran: koobideh, saffron lamb chops, gormeh sabzi, saffron-glazed lamb neck, smoked saffron tahdig and smoked jeweled rice with barberry and pistachio. Dessert includes a pistachio-espresso Tehranmisu. The room is built for a longer evening, with white tablecloths, moss-green velvet banquettes, a custom wine cellar and an interior by Kelly Architects. Reservations are encouraged through OpenTable.
One floor down from the restaurant level, Modern Luxury reported in August that Cafe Landwer has opened on the second story of Brentwood Gardens. It brings the brand's all-day Mediterranean menu over from its Century City location. The brand's own locations page lists the Brentwood cafe at 11677 San Vicente Blvd.
The two sides answer different questions. The even side covers a quick dinner, and the latest any of its three kitchens stays open is 11 p.m. The odd side covers a booked table, with an all-day cafe one floor below it. They are a short walk apart.

The hours above are the ones each business or its press coverage posted. Holiday weeks can change them, so a quick check before heading over helps.
On Mondays, Winston Pies is closed, so the pie stop drops off the even side that night. If you want takeout for a group farther up the boulevard, Neighborly at 11754 San Vicente lists daily hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., along with pickup, curbside and delivery.
What's coming in November
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, and the pie shop on the row is the obvious place to start. Winston Pies has a Thanksgiving 2026 page up. As of late October it said preorder sales "will open soon" and didn't yet list flavors, prices or a pickup schedule. If you want a Thanksgiving pie from Winston this year, watch that page over the next couple of weeks.
Brentwood Gardens may get one more food tenant. In the same August roundup, Modern Luxury reported that Sacco, an Italian sub and coffee shop, is headed to the former Ron Herman space in the building. The same piece named Community Goods as coming and Leora Cafe as reportedly on its way to San Vicente. None of the three has posted an opening date. If Sacco opens where Modern Luxury placed it, Brentwood Gardens would add a daytime sandwich-and-coffee option across from the burger, pizza and pie row.
For now, the block works like this. Pizza, burgers and pie sit in three neighboring doors on the even side. Persian dinner and an all-day cafe are across the street at 11677. Burger She Wrote's weekend close at 11 p.m. is the latest on the row.
I've watched San Vicente change storefront by storefront for many years, and what opens on a block like this one shapes how the streets around it feel day to day. If you're thinking about a home within walking distance of this stretch, or wondering what the boulevard's recent openings mean for one you already own, Megan Whalen is glad to talk it through. Let's connect.
